"Happy Birthday Rioscape" Celebration at
McAllen International Museum

The McAllen International Museum is proud to announce the first birthday of RioScape: A Discovery Park. The Museum invites the public to help it celebrate the opening of this unique interactive educational resource on Sunday, February 18 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. There will be fun for the whole family, including face painting, T-shirt painting, a scavenger hunt for children and adults, music and much, much more. Volunteers who helped build RioScape last year are invited to wear their RioScape T-shirts. As a special treat, the Museum will unveil its plans for the new Community Gallery, part of the Discovery Pavilion that is currently under construction. Come find out what wonderful new things are coming soon!

RioScape: A Discovery Park encourages exploration, curiosity and learning through play. It incorporates play in a unique family learning environment that reflects scientific and environmental concepts specific to the Rio Grande River. Through interactive play, the park encourages curiosity and learning and demonstrates concepts difficult to teach to children. RioScape has its own Rio Grande River, so children can learn about scientific principles including water pollution, erosion, pumping, hydropower to generate electricity and much more.

Admission is FREE for everyone. Come to the McAllen International Museum on Sunday, February 18th for a wonderful day of celebration and family fun.
