Become a Writer Workshop

The Museum is pleased to host a writers' workshop on Saturday, February 24, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The workshop, entitled "Become a Writer," will be taught by Marisa Taylor, the author of numerous short stories. A native of McAllen, Ms. Taylor teaches English and Creative Writing at South Texas Community College. She has been the assistant editor of two nationally-recognized literary magazines: Cutbank and The Greensboro Review. Ms. Taylor has won a number of awards and scholarships for her writing which focuses on the wonders of life along the border.

The workshop will explore such topics as "How to Write a Novel or Short 
Story," "Getting Published," and for teachers, "How Creative Writing Is Integrated into the Classroom." The fee for the workshop is $10 for Museum members, $15 for non-members. Since class size is limited to 40, pre-registration is preferred.
